Hello again. How are you? I am fine.

I was predisposed to dislike this whole thing but I listened to the clips and I've got to say, Hans Zimmer knocked it out of the park!

Item 2: a list

Rainbow colors (ROYGBIV), ranked:

  1. Blue: Blue is water but it’s also sky. Blue is half of every movie. Without blue, we would be utterly lost.
  2. Red: Stoplights, a nice bolognese, blood… red is just an absolute powerhouse.
  3. Orange: Certainly the weirdest mainstream color, a little orange goes a long way but it brings something to the table that no other color can. Orange is also the name of a - spoiler alert - top tier fruit, and gets a big bump for that.
  4. Indigo: It's not clear how indigo snuck onto this list in the first place. Let’s be honest, it’s just blue again! And yet, somehow it feels right. Whether it’s selvedge denim or, hmmm, something else that was also dyed with indigo, this color belongs among the ROYGBIV titans. Just not in the top 3.
  5. Green: Not sure exactly how to explain this but although I dislike the canonical green, I really like almost every other greenish shade. Forest green? Yes. Lime green? I mean, pick your spots, but when used in the right spot, there's nothing better than a perky lime green. Olive green? sure :)
  6. Yellow: The right yellow can be a cheerful, sunny delight. More often, however, yellow is sickly or downright annoying. Proceed with caution.
  7. Violet: We all like flowers but come on. Get out of here, pretentious purple.

Item 3: a media recommendation

Tempted to just put Hans Zimmer's ringtone here but instead I'll pay my respects to another musical legend who passed away last week. RIP, Shock G, one of the most interesting weirdo geniuses in the history of hip-hop.

Item 4: a photograph

"A woman dries trays of fish at Long Hai fish market in the Vung Tau province of Vietnam. Thousands of trays of scad are dried on rooftops and in yards by hundreds of workers. I came to Long Hai on a photo trip and was overwhelmed by the scale of the fishing village." Khanh Phan, 2021 Sony World Photography Awards

Thanks for reading. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
