Happy Pride to all my readers, even the haters and losers. 🏳️‍🌈

Do you enjoy my unique, skewed perspective on life, but feel like you're not getting enough of my thoughts on cinema? Consider following me on Letterboxd, where you can find my opinions on movies I watch. (Letterboxd is good.) With that shameless self-promotion out of the way, let's move on to my unique, skewed perspective on life:

Will the Battle of the Bastards Occur in THE WINDS OF WINTER?

Will the Battle of the Bastards Occur in THE WINDS OF WINTER?

I'm thinking about getting back into spending way too much time reading speculative writing about George R.R. Martin's never-to-be-completed A Song of Ice and Fire series. This scholarly article, which contains numerous links to supplemental resources, reading all of which would take weeks or months, is a very fine start.

Anyway I agree with the linked piece - the answer is "yes, but it will be different".

Item 2: a list

Metropolitan areas I’ve lived in for at least a couple of months, ranked

  1. Edinburgh, Scotland, UK (for now)
  2. San Francisco, CA
  3. Washington DC
  4. New York, NY
  5. Inland Empire, CA
  6. Boston, MA

[really enjoyed living in almost all of these places - ed]

Item 3: a media recommendation

Paul Simon On His Writing Process for 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' | The Dick Cavett Show

Kind of meta as a media recommendation, but technically this is a video, which is media, so I think it's okay. Anyway: I enjoyed this thoughtful explanation of how Paul Simon wrote a song I really like. You can skip over the awkward banter and just get started at 5:25 or so.
