Phoning it in this week. Apologies in advance.

This was yesterday's. If you go to the site today it'll be today's instead.

David Friedman of the Ironic Sans newsletter used some AI tools to build a daily word game that's kind of a combination of Sudoku and the classic crossword. I'd say it's on the challenging side, but I believe you could do it. It's called Gisnep for reasons that are not worth explaining. You can play it here.

Item 2: a list

Women’s Heptathlon Events, Ranked:

  1. Javelin throw
  2. 200 meters
  3. High jump
  4. 100 meter hurdles
  5. Shot put
  6. Long jump
  7. 800 meters

Item 3: a media recommendation

Chromeo - "Nice 'N Clean"

Item 4: word of the week

Pertinacious

One way to describe him is 'pertinacious'. Another way would be 'obnoxiously stubborn and terrified of change'. But regardless of how you want to put it, he's quite unpleasant to be around.

Item 5: a photograph

"Aurora over the Grand Canyon, during the peak of the perseids, with lightning flashes on the horizon. Does it get any better?" Photo and caption by Carter Murphy

See ya!

Thanks for reading. Try that Gisnep game. See you next week.
